The world is officially a blur to me. Life just got more confusing. This is a surprise that I
still could not deduce. I thought I knew a little something about movies and what people want to see. Apparently, I don’t.
See, for the second week in a row, Disturbia ruled the U.S. Box Office and was not even challenged that much. There was even a thriller that was supposed to challenge this film for its target audience. It had star power in Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson. Those two could generate interest for a flick on their own.
Well, they were simply no match for the star power of one Shia LaBeouf. Shia who?
Something tells me you will remember that name all throughout this year. I know I will. He has shown that even scathing mixed reviews were nothing more than a footnote to what a homage to an all-time classic film from the master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock can do to audiences.
As of now, it has raised its cumulative gross to $40 million. It could go as high as $70 million if the trend continues. Although the big blockbusters would probably stunt that…
