There seems to be no stopping Hollywood from venturing to remakes. No matter the genre, no matter the quality of the original film, no matter what the odds are. Venturing to remakes is one of the trends nowadays in the business, the others being sequels and animated fare. It seems to me nothing is sacred.
Who would have thought that after the Psycho remake that turned out to be both a commercial and critical dud that Hollywood would still go out of their way to seek to reimagine Alfred Hitchcock? Well, Michael Bay, he of the bombastic sets and bigger explosions as well as huge revenues in the box office, is set to remake the classic film The Birds. Yes, that film is not really the gargantuan structure we usually seein a Bay film. However, it seems he is set to do it his way, albeit as a producer.
Of course, it is already in motion as the casting of Naomi Watts and the talks of hiring director Martin Campbell has made the rounds.
