Enchanted Review

Disney was known for charming audiences with its fairy tale animated flicks and music. With Enchanted, it pokes fun at the formula without losing its charm. Instead, it enchants viewers – pun intended. This is one film that is definitely holdin true on its claim of being for all ages. A mix of musicality, wit and old Disney magic, the flick is something that should be seen by everybody who have grown to love Disney films and want to see a new taek on fairy tale romances.

Amy Adams carries the film with charm and is gives an outstanding performance. Everytime she is onscreen, you cannot help but be mesmerized with just how he channels a Disney princess and how it translates to reality. In fact, I would go as far as say this is the movie that signals her transformation to one of those good actresses to a legit movie star. Think Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. She is that good here.

Not so far behind in giving a memorable performance is James Marsden. He owns every scene he is in without chewing so much of the scenery. He provides many of the film’s funniest moments and he does so in a not-so Prince Charming fashion that is so hilarious.

Like in Disney films, the music is quite infectious. They would stick to you for quite a while, and for good reason. Not once were they annoying. The comedic moments were very well handles and the dramatic moments were never forced.

What stopped this flick from being perfect is how it bogs down in the end, especially with how Susan Sarandon entered the fray. Still, this is one film that brings back the fun in going to Disney films.
