Juno Review

As comedies go, this one is as witty as it is heartfelt. Juno is one of the most talked-about films lately and now, I can see why. It is beautifully made, excellently written and astoundingly acted. This is a crowd pleaser that really pleases and does not try at all.

Teenage pregnancy is a controversial subject and a sensitive one at that. Still, the film does not relinquish its edge and its heart along the way. What it manages to do is charm its way to the audiences without compromising its intellect. Truly, this is a special film that would touch people’s hearts.

While everyone contributed to the film’s success, there is no doubt Juno owes everything to its two stars: Ellen Page and screenwriter Diablo Cody. Page gives a sensitive performance. Each witty remark she delivers comes off with a deft sincerety that is just refreshing. She gives a voice to the witty script of Cody. Cody’s screenplay makes her Oscar win a deserved triumph.

I totally agree…Teenage pregnancy is a very sensitive issue, and the film deals with it very sensitively and of course with humor, which keeps the audience engrossed.
