This weekend promises to be a monstrous one for a certain highly anticipated flick. the opening of Beowulf could very well signal the return of big blockbusters after the summer season was over. It has a big star in Angelina Jolie, it has a recognizable epic story and a director who is now known for taking certain risks involving special effects and technology in film.

The epic story is adapted to the screen with a digital effect to boot. Some have been wowed while others smirk that it kind of looks like a video game film. Still, the anticipation has been huge for this film so it is a safe bet to open at the top spot this coming weekend.

This would surely affect other films, the holdovers and certain new releases. Beowulf would surely take away all of the attention. Now, it is up to the quality of the story how well this picture holds up all season long.
