What’s a campus film list without Alicia Silverstone’s claim to fame?

With that, at number three, we include another Amy Heckerling flick: Clueless.

The high school film is actually loosely based on a Jane Austen book called Emma. Whatever. What we actually get is a lesson on the sign of the times of that era. You’ll know that era when you remember that Alicia Silverstone was once upon a time a hot commodity in Hollywood. Again, whatever.

It revolves around high school fashionista Cher Horowitz and her quest to turn newcomer Tai (Brittany Murphy) into one of her Cher clones like her friends just to make her popular and to prove to herself, as well as to those who criticizes her that she could turn anbody popular.

The cast also includes Paul Rudd and Dan Hedaya. Don’t be fooled, though. This is Silverstone’s film all throughout. It also proved to be the last good Heckerling film about campus life. Of course, that is if you are not one of the staunchest supporters of Loser.

Yeah, whatever.
