Movie Fan Zone

What was supposed to be a fun way to the tills ended up being another victim of the fall season’s trend. Shoot ‘Em Up was not exactly a blockbuster hopeful but it was one of the more high profile new releases the previous weekend. The action film was marketed in such a way that people would be fascinated by the outrageous action never before seen in any other film of the genre. Over the top action at its finest, or so they said.

However, it failed in its quest to make a mark in the weekend box office. Moviegoers seemed to duck the film like gunfire. Evidence is the sixth place finish it had in the box office chart. That is disappointing, to say the least. For a film to start the season like that was really a negative way to start it off. Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti and Monica Bellucci were not enough to entice the fans to flock the theaters. $5.5 million just would not be enough to cut it this time.
