Movie Fan Zone

Congratulations are in order for the creators of The Simpsons Movie. By most standards, it should not be a numebr one film in the summer season. A lot of reasons should hold it back and let the usual suspects control the ticket sales. Yet, it is but a foregone conclusion that the TV family will do to the box office what it has consistently done in television ratings for years.

See, after eighteen years, the animated series should have lost a lot of its fans. Instead, it has only gained more popularity through the years. While it does not challenge the top ratings drawers, it still makes it mark. Also, in a summer with a slew of animated films, it should fall. No, the anticipation is there. With the disappointment that was Shrek The Third, it remains to be seen if it this would deliver the goods. Then again, has an episode ever failed you?

Lastly, this is the summer season. The competition is too tough, even for Mr. Burns. No matter, only the holdovers pose a threat. No other debuting film stands a chance with The Simpsons Movie. I mean, Lindsay Lohan in a thriller? Catherine Zeta-Jones inside a kitchen? Please…
