Awake, the supposed psychological thriller starring Hayden Christensen and Jessica Alba has a recognizable cast that is trapped in a film destined to fail from the very beginning. The film was said to have been for release for quite sometime now but has been delayed until this weekend.

Then, the studio did not screen the film for critics in advance. That usually is a sign that teh producers and the distributors do not have any intention of spreading the word that the film is bad. That turned out to be a good decision after all. Just take a look at the weekend box office chart. Awake plodded through at just a fourth place finish. It tallied a dismal $6 million.

Imagine if the critics were able to voice their disgust before potential viewers were able to buy a ticket. Now, critics are lambasting the film. That is not really new for any Jessica Alba film these days…
